All School Theater Audition - "Moana Junior" - CANCELLED

Through the support of a grant with the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsConnect is giving all students the opportunity to be a part of a theater production. This year, we will be auditioning for Moana Junior. There are 12 parts with a large ensemble. Cast members as well as crew members will be needed. (Crew members can call 522-2108 to be added.)

Many schools across Hamilton County have reduced or lost their theater programs due to budget cuts. To support schools and students, ArtsConnect has partnered with Dramakinetics, Mt Healthy School District and the Ohio Arts Council to bring an All School Community Theater Program to our region.

The first theater production will be a Juniors musical, open to any student from any school who are between the ages of 10-17.

ArtsConnect hosted an Open House at Mt Healthy Jr/Sr High School on March 5th where students selected the show, Moana Jr.

Sign Up For An Audition Time
Auditions for the show will be held Sunday, April 5th beginning at 1:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 7th, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Mt Healthy Jr/Sr High School auditorium. Auditions will be held in 15-minute increments.

Students should RSVP to one 15-minute audition and plan to sing a song of their choice a cappella or with a music track. Students will also be given short scripts to read.

Rehearsals and Fees
Final cast rehearsal dates will be given by the Director and will be based on the character your child is in the play. The following schedule is expected:

May 18 - June 24th - 2 Days Per Week
MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS 6:30 - 9:00 PM
(No rehearsal Wednesday, May 27)

June 8 - June 24 - 3 Days Per Week
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY 6:30-9:00 PM & SATURDAYS 9-11AM

Dress Rehearsal: June 25, 5-9pm

Tech Week June 22-June 25 may require additional practices.


Public Show: June 26 at 7PM, June 27 at 2pm and at 7pm
Students are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals. Certain exceptions, with notification can be approved.
Fees:

Cast: $100 per student

Crew: $50 per child

Registration will open after the cast list has been posted.


If you are a parent wanting to help ensure the All School Theater is a success, sign up to volunteer. We will need parents to assist with rehearsals whenever possible. Sign up for 1 evening a night - or Saturdays from 9am-11am beginning June 8th,. Evening rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 - 9p.m., May 18-June 24th *Parent volunteers will undergo a background check paid for by ArtsConnect. Scholarships Available:
A limited number of scholarships are available to students who demonstrate a financial need. Scholarship applications are due no later than May 18. Each scholarship approved covers 50% of the cost. (Cast $50, Crew $25)
