Create your own unique jewelry pieces. You will learn how to cut, form and solder the pieces together. Enamel will be used to embellish the piece through the Cloisonne or Champleve techniques. All pieces will be completed in a professional manner and will be ready to be worn at the conclusion of the class. all supplies included.
The instructor is Karen Gasik, who has taught for over 30 years. Most recently at Wyoming High. She will go through step-by-step instructions teaching the entire jewelry-making process.
Classes are held on Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at ArtsConnect Arts Center, 9158 Winton Road, the building behind the Springfield Township Fire Station.
No class on Jan 25 due to the instructor being out of town. Session will end 1 week later than other classes.
Enameling is the technique of fusing powdered glass to metal by heating them together in a kiln at 1450 F. Students will be taught how to form copper sheet metal into a 3D shape and then use vitreous enamels to create a colorful art piece. Students can select from a variety of patterns and choose what colors to decorate the metal. All supplies included.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings
Class cancellations due to weather will be made one hour prior to class start times and will be listed on the homepage of the ArtsConnect website at www.theartsconnect.us. To verify any weather closings, call 513-522-2108. In most instances, classes cancelled by weather will be made up by adding an additional class to the end of the session.
Due to costs incurred planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the ArtsConnect cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student or transfer to a new session.
