Woodshop and Blacksmithing workshops are great ways to try out a specific piece of equipment. These workshops are 2-week classes that help introduce participants to a particular skill. Workshops are held in-between each session of regular classes for 2 consecutive weeks from 5:45 - 8:45 pm. No experience is necessary. Woodturning and Blacksmithing only take a limited number of students so register early!
THEMED WOODCRAFT WORKSHOP

Learn to make your own woodcraft gifts. These workshops will be theme-based and perfect for homemade gifts or home décor. Make wood-crafted projects such as cutting boards, serving trays, and serving platters. Themed Woodcraft takes a maximum of 10 students. No experience necessary. All supplies Included.
Have you ever wanted to learn to use a lathe? This workshop will make a different woodturning project each session. The Woodturning Workshopwill teach you how to use a lathe woodturning machine to make projects such as bowls, holiday decorations, and candlesticks. These projects make great gifts! No experience necessary. Maximum of 4 students, so register early!
Do you enjoy watching ’Forged in Fire’ and always thought how fun it would be to try it? Now’s your chance to try your hand at forging! Learn the ancient technique of Blacksmithing in this 2-week class. Participants will make various forged hook creations. No experience necessary. All supplies Included. Maximum of 6 students so register early!
Joshua is a trained carpenter and a seasoned woodshop instructor, having taught woodworking for over 10 years. He has taught numerous Woodworking classes for Tri-county Woodcraft in Springdale and currently teaches private lessons in his home studio. Joshua also teaches Blacksmithing once a month to veterans in the Wounded Warrior program. He takes great pride in helping the veterans learn new and useful skills.
Joshua brings his vast experience to ArtsConnect where he teaches Woodworking and Blacksmithing classes for adults.
Class Cancellations & Weather Closings
A minimum of four students must be enrolled for the session prior to the stated deadline for the class to take place (maximum 12 students). The Springfield Township Senior and Community Arts Center follows Finneytown School District inclement weather closings. To verify closings, call 513-522-1154.
Due to costs incurred in planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the Arts Council cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student. Refunds will be made by check, not to a credit card. To notify us of a cancellation, please send an email to email@example.com.
