First Act!  Kids Theater                                                             Interested, REGISTER HERE!

$65 for non-members per 6 week session
$58.50 for members per 6 week session

First Act! is a theater class that teaches acting, character development, stage management and design. Participants will gain an appreciation for theater production and learn what goes on behind the stage.  They will do warm up activities, acting games, improv, and play analysis.   They will learn to use their "stage voice" to project, and their body language to build character. Students will perform a short, 5-10 minute play on the last day of the 6 week session for parents and friends.This class will help the out-going child focus their energies and the shy child to come out of their shell. 

NEW LOCATION: Lessons will be held in the Allen Paul Community Room, located in the Springfield Township Administration Building, 9150 Winton Rd, next to the Fire Station. Pull in the back to park and enter.

Our Instructor:  Victoria Radcliffe

Victoria holds a BA in Theater and Political Science from Case Western Reserve University.  She studied theater abroad for a semester in Dublin, Ireland. Victoria received the CWRU Journalism Award for ‘Best Article of the Year’. She has experience in acting, directing, stage management, costume design, scenic design, prop artistry, sound design, and dramaturgy. She has written short and full-length plays.  Her passions include creative theater, play analysis, program writing, working with children, and inspiring creativity.  Victoria will be starting her graduate degree in 2020 working toward her MA/MBA in Arts Administration.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings

A minimum of four students must be enrolled for the session prior to the stated deadline for the class to take place (maximum 12 students). The Springfield Township Senior and Community Arts Center follows Finneytown School District inclement weather closings. To verify closings, call 513-522-2108. 

Due to costs incurred in planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the Arts Council cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student. Refunds will be made by check, not to a credit card. To notify us of a cancellation, please send an email to artsinfo@springfieldtwp.org.
