Woodshop Workshops

Are you looking to give a great gift to someone with that extra bonus that you created it?!!  Try one of our Woodshop Workshops where you can assemble a pre-made project kit with the hands-on instruction from our Master Carpenter, Patrick Walker.  We offer workshops to create stools, birdhouses, wood burning designs, toolboxes, and rocking horses. These workshops are hands-on and $45 each. Includes supplies.

Interested in fixing up a room in your home?  Do you want to design and build a deck?  Or, do you need some tips on how to blend old and new paint to make it look flawless?  The ArtsConnect Home Renovation Workshop Series is a once a month class on how to renovate your home correctly and aesthetically.  Patrick Walker, former general contractor, will share his expertise on home building with participants on topics ranging from patching holes in drywall or plaster to hanging doors and installing a new roof.  These workshops are lecture style and $30 each.

Our Instructor:

Patrick Walker

Patrick holds a Master's degree from Mt. St. Joseph in Secondary Education and a Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing from the University of Cincinnati.  Patrick worked for the past 20 years in all aspects of the construction industry as well as owned his own company.  His specific focus was rough and finish carpentry which has led to his current interests in function, scale and craftsmanship in both his own work and his students' work.

Currently, Patrick works as a Maker Artist and a regular Substitute Teacher in the Wyoming and Lockland School Districts. As an artist, he focuses on found, functional sculpture.  He loves to explore new mediums and techniques. Patrick attempts to use unique materials with unusual and surprising methods.  In particular, he enjoys repurposing historic pieces that would otherwise be lost to history.  Patrick states, "To blend my energy with that of the original craftsman's is to honor (him/her) and the piece."
