Exploring art through workshops introduces you to a variety of media without the commitment of a 6 week class. Learn something new!

MAKE SURE YOUR WORKSHOP DOES  NOT CANCEL! We encourage participants to register early. Minimum and maximum class sizes are required to run a workshop. Decisions to cancel a workshop due to class size is made the week prior to the program to allow our instructors ample time to purchase supplies and prepare for the class.

Embroidery Sampler
Ages 8-12  (Online)
Students will make an embroidery sampler using basic embroidery stitches such as, backstitch, French knot, chain stitch, blanket stitch and lazy daisy. All supplies included. This workshop will be held Online via Zoom. You may pick up your supply kit at the art center prior to the class.

Learn to dance the Monster Mash with help from our friends at Pones. Apply zombie makeup and show your dance skills off to family members at our Halloween party. Siblings are welcome to the party!

Sky High-72Palette Knife Skills 
3.5 hr workshop Experiment with graffito, dragging, and lifting to create interesting textures while trying various sizes of palette knives.  Please bring your own acrylic or oil paints.  Canvas and knives will be provided.

Wheel PictureServing Platters and Bowls

Ukrainian Egg OrnamentUkrainian Christmas Egg Ornament
Create a Ukrainian Egg (Pysanka) Christmas ornament using the traditional wax-resist dyeing techniques and natural dyes. Learn the history, coloration, and symbolism of Pysanka designs. Each student will leave with a completed egg, tools, and dyes.

Class Cancellations & Weather Closings

A minimum of four students must be enrolled for the session prior to the stated deadline for the class to take place (maximum 12 students). The Springfield Township Senior and Community Arts Center follows Finneytown School District inclement weather closings. To verify closings, call 513-522-2108. 


Due to costs incurred in planning for art classes, full refunds will only be issued when the Arts Council cancels the class. Class cancellations made within 10 business days of the class start date are eligible for a refund, minus a $5 administration fee per student. Refunds will be made by check, not to a credit card. To notify us of a cancellation, please send an email to artsinfo@springfieldtwp.org.
