ABOUT ARTSCONNECT - ArtsConnect is a non-profit arts organization in partnership with Springfield Township. The organization runs community events, classes and volunteer projects year-round as a way to connect the local public. With a focus on the arts, we serve to provide a higher quality of life through social connectedness and exposure to the arts.

We offer a 7 week, full-day summer art camp program for kids in the summer. We are now accepting applications for two assistant counselors. Check out our assistant counselor job description. ArtsConnect Kids Camp

7 weeks of camp:  9 a.m. - 4 p.m., 6/15 - 7/31/2020

Camp Hours:

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Assistant Counselor Hours:

  8:25 - 4:25 p.m.
25 children maximum, 10 kids minimum

Camp Location 

The camp takes place at the Springfield Township Community Arts Center,
the second building back on the campus at 
9158 Winton Road, Building A, Cincinnati, OH 45231.

Assistant Counselors to be hired and used as needed per enrollment:

2 Assistant Counselors, $10 per hour
(1 Counselor for 1 - 15 students, 2 counselors for 16 - 25 students)

Campers will be required to pack a lunch, a snack, and a refillable water bottle for each day. A healthy mid-afternoon snack will be supplied to campers.  Counselors will want to pack their lunches and snacks, as well.

Assistant Counselor Description:

The Assistant Counselor will assist the Education Director with art activities, supplies, and teaching.  He or she will be expected to plan and lead games, songs, and activities that compliment the art activity for each day/week. 

Type of Employment: These are full and part-time hourly positions that are not exempt from the overtime requirements of the FLSA.  These positions are seasonal (June through July) and do not entitle counselors to unemployment compensation or benefits upon completion of each camp season. 

ArtsConnect Kids Camp Counselor Selection Process: Instructors must complete a camp counselor application which includes three professional references related to the program being offered. ArtsConnect will review the applications and forms submitted and will evaluate the instructors on the basis of their experience, credentials, references and background information. 

Interviews will be conducted with the camp counselors deemed qualified by ArtsConnect. Final selection of instructors shall be at the sole discretion of ArtsConnect. All instructors working with children must complete and pass a background check.
