Summer Camps

Your kids will have a summer packed with imaginative, creative and fulfilling art projects in the ArtsConnect Kids Camp. Unlike any other art camp, this program empowers kids to make a difference through their art. We employ certified art educators, ensuring your kids are exposed to a wide range of artistic skills and media. Campers will learn about cultural differences and stewardship of their environment while creating projects from puppetry to public murals and so much more. Experience a week or an entire summer of art!

ArtsConnect Kids Camp Overall Goals
The ArtsConnect Kids Camp is not a traditional summer art camp program. We give children the necessary resources and instruction to flourish as young artists. We also strive to educate them on how they can use their artistic knowledge and artistic skills to make positive contributions to their communities. Our camp curriculum has been created with that intent. We have employed counselors who can successfully create, implement, and reflect upon art lessons and also serve as positive role models.

Our camp is accredited through the American Camp Association and runs with support from ArtsWave!

ARTSCONNECT SUMMER CAMP 2020 - Schedule and Themes will be posted in January 2020.  ArtsConnect will offer 7 weeks of Summer Camp, from June 15 - July 31. Summer Camp 2020 will be held in our newly renovated Art Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Springfield Township.  Check back in January for camp details.

Week 1: June 3-7 2019
Life-Size Puppets Puppetry can make imaginary worlds come alive!  Campers will learn to build unique, life-size puppets.  Together, the group will create a story and backdrop to enliven the puppets created from fabrics, 3-D objects, and even papier mache.  The week will culminate with a puppet show from Madcap Puppet Theater! $169

($159 with membership!)
Week 2: June 10-14, 2019
I love Cincinnati! ArtsConnect campers will celebrate what they love about Cincinnati through their artwork this week. The rich history of Cincinnati has given it beautiful and memorable icons and landmarks that we all recognize and love. Campers will use drawings, resists, collages, and box sculptures to illustrate their favorite Cincinnati icons. $169
Week 3: June 17 - 21, 2019
Art, Industry, and Machines
Design, engineering, and art collide this week as campers reflect the beauty of machines and industrial design in their artwork. Machines are full of intricate shapes, colors, textures, and mass that inspire campers to create illustrations and abstractions in multiple media. Campers will have a chance to look, touch, and climb onto machines at the "Touch a Truck" event on Friday of this week. $169
Week 4: June 24 - 28, 2019 Fashion in a Flash!! Ties, t-shirts, and trousers transform into new, fashionable clothing this week as campers explore fashion design, up-cycled apparel, and create new, unusual fashion trends.  Campers will use non-sewing techniques to remake clothes into new pieces of art.  Twisting, ripping, braiding, printing, painting, dyeing, and weaving will all take place at ArtsConnect! $169
Week 5: July 8 - 12, 2019 The Amusement Park Summertime means roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and merry-go-rounds!  Known for their bright colors and shapes, amusement parks inspire campers this week to create linear designs, kinetic sculptures, and paintings. $169
Week 6: July 15 - 19, 2019 Selfies! Make your best selfie ever!!  Will it be a portrait in paint, a photograph, or a life-sized image of you?  Artists have been taking "selfies" for thousands of years to practice depicting the human face and for self-expression.  Campers may be surprised at the different ways a selfie can be depicted. $169
Week 7: July 22 - 26, 2019 Under the Sea A whole world exists under the water of the earth's oceans, lakes, and rivers.  Many artists choose to share the beauty of marine life but also communicate the real threats to the harmony of the oceans through artwork.  Campers will learn about marine life and share their versions of it through painted paper collages, collagraph prints, papier mache sculpture, and many other media. $169
Week 8: July 29 - August 2, 2019 Stop Motion Animation
Everyone wants to be in movies but not everyone knows how to make one!  Learn from an expert this week on how to make stop motion animation.  Every step in the process is an art form - creating the sculptures, the background, composing the image in the camera, and the lighting. This program is supported in part by a generous grant for ArtsWave.
