About the Instructor
Roger was born in Goldendale, Washington and attended the University of Washington, graduating with a B. S. and M. S. in Chemical Engineering.  After two years in the Army, he began his engineering career with Procter and Gamble at Long Beach, California.  In 1971, he moved to Cincinnati and in his spare time, for the next 10 years, took watercolor lessons from Ray Loos and Lou Austerman.

After retiring from Procter and Gamble in 1998, he was able to pick up his idle brushes and spend more time on his watercolors, concentrating on landscapes, floral, and architectural subjects.  Since then he has studied with Eric Weigardt, Margaret Scanlan, Arne Westerman, Sam Holingsworth, Vola Lee, Bruce Neville, Ron Ranson, Tony Couch, Frank Webb, Homer Hacker, Mel Stabin, Susan Tregay, Dale Latinen, and Tom Fong.

Roger is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Watercolor Society, The Queen City Art Club, The Ohio Watercolor Society, and the Art on Symmes Guild. In 2013 Roger won a Springfield Township Art contest where one of his pictures is displayed on 18 winter theme banners on Winton Road.
