Painting and Drawing Classes

The ArtsConnect painting and drawing classes for children, ages 7 - 9, and teens, ages 10 - 13, present the opportunity for participants to dive into visual arts even deeper than they can at elsewhere.  The curriculum combines relevant issues and topics integrated with skill development in drawing and painting.  Various drawing and painting media will be explored through studies and projects.

The Instructor for Children, ages 7 - 9:  TBA

The Instructor for Teens, ages 10 - 13: Heather Bollen-Hitchman

Heather Hitchman is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Southern State and the Nature Shop Manager at Cincinnati Nature Center.  Heather holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History and Art Education from Mt. She is currently enrolled in a doctorate program that focuses on Community Based Arts Education.

Painting and Drawing for ages 7 - 9 and 10 - 13 are both taught in Room C at the Community Art Center in Springfield Township on Tuesday from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Two instructors will work together to create similar lesson plans that are appropriate for the different age groups.  The two age groups will work separately in room C but will have the opportunity to see each other's work.
